February 4, 2012 keikikaiLeave a comment

Kai’s recovery from his ear infection was short lived.  By Thursday he was back to being whiny and tired so we went straight to the pediatrician again.  She said his ears were improving and he shouldn’t be this uncomfortable anymore.   She was now worried about his shunt and wanted us to go into Children’s… Continue reading A short stay

Kai has needed lots of cuddles and snuggles the past few days. Going into chemo this week He wasn’t feeling so great. He had really low energy starting on sunday and he seemed to be in some pain. just another day

December 29, 2011 keikikai1 Comment

As expected, Kai did well at the clinic yesterday.  Although his hearing tests are always a challenge, they were (after 3 different screening methods) able to confirm his hearing is working just fine.  The problem seems to be that he just isn’t that interested in their tests. After audiology we went back over to the… Continue reading just another day

Todays MRI came back ‘stable’!

December 21, 2011 keikikai8 Comments

Kai’s MRI came back ‘stable, with possible signs of shrinkage’ according to DR. Kieran! Dr. Kieren feels the chemo is working and that we need to stay on track with his treatments, which means no more skipping a week unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. He said he doesn’t want to give the tumor the advantage by skipping… Continue reading Todays MRI came back ‘stable’!

Kai has been in great spirits and doing well this week.  He  did lots of holiday visiting this weekend and has just been all smiles the past few days!  He seems to be moving his right hand a little more and he has been a little less shaky since his last acupuncture visit.  I’m sure… Continue reading Tomorrow is MRI day

Week off, sort of…

December 16, 2011December 17, 2011 keikikai1 Comment

This was week of Kai’s two weeks ‘off’ chemo. Unfortunately we ended up taking a quick trip into Boston anyway. Kai’s gtube site was looking a little red and puffy and I was afraid of infection. I called his doctors and they wanted to take a look, so we went. Once they saw it they… Continue reading Week off, sort of…
