Todays MRI came back ‘stable’!

Kai’s MRI came back ‘stable, with possible signs of shrinkage’ according to DR. Kieran! Dr. Kieren feels the chemo is working and that we need to stay on track with his treatments, which means no more skipping a week unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. He said he doesn’t want to give the tumor the advantage by skipping too many treatments. So we have to do our best to keep Kai strong and health  (continuing with a good diet and acupuncture) and TRY not to overreact about the little things!

Thankfully Kai has been doing really well this week, so i am now more confident that his shakiness and increased nystagmus does have more to do with fatigue caused by the chemo, rather than any change in his tumor. It is a small relief for now, but I’m going to try to keep that perspective as long as I can.

Kai spent most of the day sleeping off the anesthesia from his MRI. He really didn’t wake up until around 4:00 just in time to get the good news and head home. He now seems back to his old self again. He is having a BIG dinner after not eating all day! We will see if he sleeps at all tonight 🙂

Somehow i got mixed up with his audiology appointment, i thought it was today at 9 but it turns out it is next week at 11??? Anyway, I’m sure that will go fine next week.

We also picked up Kai’s safety glasses today. They are pretty silly looking but also a little cute…don’t you think!?!

So far they have not been bothered by them at all.  Hopefully that will continue and he will get used to them quickly.

So for now, I guess we just continue on this plan.

We will start another cycle of chemo next week and hope we can get 4 weeks in this time.

In another three months we will be back in for another MRI and see what happens….

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers and energy today!

We are so relieved!
